I think I would have forced a thank you from her, and said something like, 'Umm don't I get a thank you for helping you find your wallet? With money in it none the less?' This may be just an extreme case, I recall picking stuff up when people dropped it in crowded areas, running up to them and having them be surprised and very thankful when I returned them.
