Speedy! I'm sorry about Wrinkles - unlike your post, this post was definitely tongue-in-cheek!

Spot is nasty because "he" is small and sensitive so he does that over-compensation thing. Not many rocks are worn away so easily - which is why he has that hole (which I never point out to him).

He's been inside too long. He won't be able to make it out in the wild. He likes being in the kitchen - he can see the sink and watch me wash the dishes (I have a dishwasher but rarely use it). He was found near the beach so he likes being near water.

Do you really rub talc on them there rocks - I mean pets? They do look a little stoned!!!! If "Spot" is nasty, what's he doin` in the kitchen? Let them outside today. They will love you for it.

ack: I thought Earl might be pre-named and that seems funny to me, too.

Yes, Ms. Q has had a goldfish. I had one that lived for 8 years in a large vase I had purchased just for the purpose. I put in a small pump and everything. I never really named him. Nothing stuck. I kind of thought of him as "The 99 cent special" as that's what I paid for him at some department store. He was a Comet goldfish.

He required little care and died conveniently just before I was to move so I didn't have to worry about transporting him.

Yup. pre-named. Still funny (at least to me).

The naming bit reminds me of the time I gave my mother a little bear with a San Jose Earthquakes t-shirt on it. I decided his name was "Eddie", same as my fave member of the now-moved-off-to-Huston-and-won-the-championship-after-leaving-us-twising-in-the-wind Earthquakes. (me bitter? why would you ever think that?)

I just can't see a goldfish named "Fluffy" though. Makes me wonder if MsQ ever had goldfish. (mine - Alex & Steve)

ack: Earl the Dead Cat. Huh. Since he came complete with death certificate I gather that's his given name? I think if someone gave me a dead (toy) cat, I'd want to be able to fill in the blanks myself.

If I can't think of a name, all my pets end up being named Fluffy.
