What’s Sexy? What’s Cool? You Tell Me.
I’m going to describe a scene for you.
A little something I observed when I went for a walk this afternoon.
I’d like you to tell me which elements of the story you found sexy and/or cool and which ones you did not.
A late-model black sports sedan with tinted windows rolls to a stop at the red light.
The driver’s side window powers down revealing a woman in her early twenties.
She has precisely waved and highlighted long hair, honey-colored skin, large sunglasses and glossy lips.
On her right is a narrow-faced man who leans towards her, his white baseball cap making him look younger than she.
She raises her tanned and toned left arm just high enough to flick a cigarette outside the window.
Hot – the woman (well not really since I don’t know what she looks like)
Not – large sunglasses, cigarette
the honey-coloured skin reminds me of my new friend, the indian girl, who visits me some mornings and makes everything better.
sexy.
2Perfect: the woman being hot is, of course, subjective. She acted as if she were too sexy for her…whatever. I thought the car-hair-lipstick-etc all presented what is generally thought of as SexyCool today but as soon as the cigarette was tossed out the window? Poof! End of fantasy!
Dr. Alistair: sexy can be found anywhere, it can be anything…and most times, sexy is not obvious and despite what market wants us to believe, I don’t think perfection is sexy. Sexy is the crooked smile, the mole, the scar, the cowlick, the chipped tooth, the crooked little toe…
hi! i am participating in doshdosh’ technorati favorites experiment. i just fav’d you. hope you fave me too. i’m at http://www.anitokid.blogspot.com
Obviously the woman appears to be sexy from your description. There is also the element of youth and vitality in a slick fast car. That car can also represent the state of mind and emotions for people in love in their early 20’s. Fast, aggressive, out of control. But I’m thinking too much like a screenwriter here.
Sexy:
woman
glossy lips
tanned and toned left arm
Cool:
tinted windows
large sunglasses
I think that black sports sedan were sexy and cool, nothing really appealing about the two.
Cheers
Ricardo: You do think like a screenwriter! As I walked in front of them, I was framing them in my mind as well – I wondered what the woman was seeing as she looked at me? The woman looked sexy from what little I could see of her.
Christian: large sunglasses gets 1 vote cool, 1 vote not (cool or sexy, not sure).
Robin Bal: I thought the entire package was trying too hard. The car had chrome wheels – what do you think about that?
I hear Paris Hilton almost broke her neck from the weight of her sunglasses.
Natron: Doesn’t surprise me. Paris doesn’t have much of a neck.
Not that she needs much of one based on what appears to be a head filled with light and fluffy thoughts.
