What thoughts come to mind when you see the image below?

Ms. Q - Chinese Take Out

  • Chinese food sounds good right now.
  • Ms. Q is “thinking inside the box”?
  • I wish I knew how to use chopsticks
  • Ah! “Chinese Take Out” … Take Ms. Q out on a date!
  • How the heck did Ms. Q create that image?
  • Ms. Q is…leftovers?
  • Food…Ms. Q…uhhh..oops…[no longer Rated G]

The results of this survey will be used to determine if the above image will be used in a marketing campaign for an upcoming reality show based on my search for love.

Some suggested titles for the show:

“Ms. Q – One Hour Later, You’re Hungry For More”
“Who Will Be Mr. Q?”
“Fortune’s Cookie”
“Dim Sons and Dim Sum”

Advertising will be nationwide and broadcast on the Cartoon Network.

Ms Q’s box – There be fiery dragons in there!

  3. Urban Thoughton 19 Jul 2007 at 5:35 am

First Thought: How in the h*ll did she do that? Nice. Creative.
Second Thought: Is she opening her own restaurant?

  4. MsQon 19 Jul 2007 at 9:33 am

Jill and UT: You were on the same wavelength! Glad you liked it and now you know where to go if you want some personalized images!

UT: Nope, no restaurant owner here! Wine bar, coffee shop, those are as close as I get when it comes to imagining opening up some type of food place.

HMTKSteve: Uh….huh. Depending on your point of view, could be good, really bad or I even, hmm…really-really good. Sounds like a question to Ask a Ninja..

    Chinese take-out. uck.

(don’t really care for Chinese food for some reason. It’s probably the greebly content.)

    Irisi: Hmmmm.

ack: Greebly content? Not sure what you mean…

WHAT?!?! WHAT?!?! WHAT?!?! You’re getting a reality show? Are you going to jump out of this box?

  9. Gregg Hawkinson 20 Jul 2007 at 4:32 pm

My first thought was “Did Ms. Q find a restaurant that uses her online alias?!” And then I read your chopsticks line and was thinking of how I’m asian and can’t use chopsticks. haha

  10. MsQon 20 Jul 2007 at 5:18 pm

Ricardo: hahaha! Any show with me in it would not be based on reality. It would have to be on the Cartoon Network. I mean, I’m practically a cartoon character!

I read that Danny DeVito is 5 foot tall – he’s 1.25″ taller than I! When I first saw him on “Taxi” I thought he was a midget! Think what I would look like! Plus I heard that TV adds 10 pounds. I’m by no means fat but yow. I’d rather be a cartoon. Like I said, I’m practically there already.

No jumping outta boxes for me.

Gregg: You can’t use chopsticks? I can but a Korean guy I know told me that I use chopsticks like a kid – I use chopsticks a bit like tongs instead of holding them like a pen and just moving the top chopstick.

Whatever. I figure I get the food to my mouth and I call that good.

  11. ackon 20 Jul 2007 at 6:53 pm

Greeblies are ucky veggies, which tends to be prevelant in the Chinese food i’ve tried.

Hmmm. If tv adds 10 pounds, then maybe folks will no longer be shocked when I tell them how much I weigh. Lots of people have guessed my weight, and they always go low. Always. Even when I tell them they will go low. (So the add a little and are still low.)

So, if Ms. Q does a cartoon show, does that mean we would all get to be on it?

As for chopsticks, I was once the only person asked at a group lunch when we went to a Korean BBQ place if I needed a fork. :-( What? I’m the token ugly american? How’d I draw *that* straw?!?!? I do okay, but not great with them. I might be closer to using them like you’re supposed to, but I agree that getting the food eaten without the chopstick getting nailed into someone’s eye is the point.

ack: “ucky veggies”?? What vegetables do you like?

If I were a cartoon, “Ms. Q” would be my superhero alter-ego brought on by a sip of red wine. They are still working on the premise – as in, will my character be aware of “Ms. Q” like something out of “The Incredible Hulk”? (”Don’t …make…me…angry….” becomes “Wine Me Up!” as I gear up to do battle with The Powers of Ego).

One idea is that white wine would be my kryptonite. That or any type of soda. But soda is more easily accessible which may make for too many bad situations for our hapless heroine. Although it may be funny as the people she must do battle with shake up cans of soda, aim them at her and open ‘em up to dilute her wine-infused powers.

Not sure yet on her powers. “Scathing Wit” was mentioned.

Unknown is my “civilian” name. Some yukster mentioned, “Suzy” or “Curly”

Would you all get to be on it? No mention of fellow bloggers or readers. Why? Wanna be a Sidekick?

With respect to your getting offered chopsticks when no one else was, sounds like Racial Profiling.

  13. ackon 22 Jul 2007 at 11:32 pm

Biting Sarcasm comes to mind, but I supposed that’s only a variant on Scathing Wit. Though, Mulcahy’s Baleful Glare would be a good done. (Short story is it’s a spell a friend of mine from college came up with in a RPG system.)

veggies – not many really. corn, peas, beans, rice, some peppers, carrots, stuff like that. more when they’re in soup.

Another idea for the kryptonite affect would be champange. Still get the shake up value, but it’s not as readily available. Also, it could be if you had some French red wine, it would have to be French champange, but if it were a california red, then, a california champange would work. humor affect as people douse you with the wrong stuff.

If you know about it, then a sidekick comes into play. but, if it’s more along the Jeckel/Hyde pattern, then there’s not much room for sidekicks.

You could have the sidekick be a sommielier(sp?), searching for the perfect wine to power you up, but without an anti-wine. a search that much of course always fail, for the superhero always needs to have a weakness.

a sidekick would be fun. creating characters and such is something i’ve done off and on for a while now.

back to the chopsticks thing – it wasn’t that i was offered them, it that i was asked if i couldn’t use them. depsite that at the table we had at least two other non-asian types. (who weren’t asked.) musta been because i asked how spicy their spicy pork was. (turned out it wasn’t that spicy, and wasn’t that warm either. ended up being downright cold towards the end.)

  14. MsQon 23 Jul 2007 at 9:48 am

ack: rice and beans? Those aren’t veggies! Actually, I’m not sure where beans (as in pinto and the like) fall on the veg scale – I thought they were “legumes”

I see you like the starchier veggies.

I like the sommelier idea – the guy/gal could be my “Arthur” (as in Batman) or “Q” (as in James Bond).

Yeah, my “Kryptonite” would have to be rare and French Champagne is a great suggestion. “Sparkling Wine” would not cut it. Things could get more complex if the champagne from certain regions (appellations?) made me even weaker.

  15. ackon 23 Jul 2007 at 1:47 pm

I wasn’t sure where legumes went anyway. They’re not meat. Not dairy. fruit? veggie? grain? i dunno. (third base!)

Ah, yes. A cross between “Arthur” and “Q”, as opposed to “Robin” or the Bond Girl. You could get advice on local wines for various locales you end up doing your thing in.

I guess you could say that I like my startch in my veggies, not in my collar. :-)
