Oh, and self-improvement books generally encourage you to expect the best out of life but be prepared to deal with the worst. As well as enjoy the smaller things.

I&#039;d rather be well, a friend, someone who makes you think, someone who makes you want more for yourself, someone who is in her own small way is making the world a better place.</description>

I&#039;ve read about how great and healthy meditation is over and over again and never did it regularly until recently. It&#039;s like exercising - you can read all you want but you have to do the work!

I&#039;ve been very fortunate in meeting guides throughout my life. At the age of 19 I was introduced to the term &quot;codependent&quot; and when I asked, &quot;What is that?&quot; books by John Bradshaw were recommended.

It took me years to unravel the ties that bind. We all have a pain threshold when it comes to self-improvement. To refer to our early &quot;conversation&quot; about not feeling pain and being numb, the drive for self-improvement usually comes when we want to end the pain.

So we may know that such-and-such is bad for us but we keep doing it anyway. Then one day, if we&#039;re lucky, we&#039;re in so much pain that we decide, THIS MUST END because I CAN&#039;T TAKE IT ANYMORE. So we are motivated to make changes in our lives.</description>
