Let It Blow

Published by MsQ at 10:53 pm under Humor

Eeaggggh-choo!

‘Tis the Season. The Flu Season.

I thought I’d write a stuffy little song. It’s made to be sung the tune of that Christmas song, “Let It Snow.”

Let It Blow
(a Ms. Q original, not to be confused with, “It Blows”)

My nose is really dripping,
Causing all sorts of sniffling,
And since it’s got no place to go…
Let me blow, let me blow, let me blow!

My nose doesn’t show signs of stopping,
I’ve bought tissues for all the snotting,
The heat may be on, but I feel so cold…
Let me blow, let me blow, let me blow!

When I finally crawl out of bed,
I’m dizzy, dehydrated and drawn.
If you put a hand to my head,
You’ll see that fever is keeping me warm!

The drugs are not really working,
Kill me now, my sinuses are hurting.
It hurts, I can’t take no mo’
Let me blow, let me blow, let me blow!

Note: I AM NOT SICK.

I am still the Unemployed Sexy-in-Sweats Bad Pajama-Mama-fe-fi-fo-fama…banana as ever.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Oh I know that’s no fun. I was just sick maybe a month ago, and I was not appreciating that guy on the airplane that got me sick. Do you know what got you sick?

Derek: thanks for the sympathy but I’m not sick!! Maybe my note at the end wasn’t visible enough? I will change it to all caps!

hehehe.. that describes it pretty well, Ms. Q. Catchy tune!

I’m glad you are not sick!

I am impressed that you can sing so passionately about the flu, while in good health. You are an artiste!

LOL… So creative you are Ms. Q. Thank you for the laugh this morning.

Funny that you mention colds and flu season. I was sitting in the office yesterday and we had a chorus of coughs. Sort of like a chain reaction. Once one person coughed another one would follow until it made its way through the room ending in silence.

I’m glad I’m not feeling under the weather at this point.

Still a pleasure to read that you are in good spirits.

Sue: Hopefully you and your family are in good health. People with children usually get sick what with the kids bringing “stuff” home from school! “catchy tune” - cute!!

Christine: Hehehehe! I had the start of this post a while ago, maybe even last year. I have a lot of post “notes” on my laptop if nothing current is coming to mind to write about. This one FINALLY came together!

UT: I’m glad I mad you laugh this morning! I always imagine people I “know” (know how they look, know how they think from reading their blogs) reading my posts.

I think of you reading this on your Blackberry (I believe you wrote on Ricardo’s blog you do a LOT of stuff on your Blackberry) and sometimes laughing to yourself. It’s a nice feeling to know I’m putting a smile on your face or anyone else’s.

A friend of mine caught a cold over Thanksgiving which made me think of the Flu Season - and reading Ricardo’s “Hanukkah Sniffles” post was yet another reminder. . I am glad you’re not sick!

I get the sense that you take very good care of your health.

Ricardo: Song Boid. That’s me all right! I have dreams of becoming a Torch Singer - you know, long gown with a slit high up the leg, smoky eye makeup, red lips, a piano.

    What am I singing?

    “Fever”

Never know how much I love you,
Never know how much I care.
When you put your arms around me,
I get a fever that’s so hard to bear.

    You give me fever,
    When you kiss me,
Fever when you hold me tight.
    Fever! In the morning,
    Fever all through the night.

    …..

I have the Peggy Lee version. Whoooo. Wish I could sing sultry like THAT.
