Let It Blow – A Capella
Be afraid. Be very-very afraid.
Ms. Q sings! A capella no less!
If I could figure out a way to do some type of overlay with the Audacity recording software, I’d certainly hide my gravelly tones in some music.
Unfortunately, I have been reduced to singing a capella. What is a capella? “Without instrumental accompaniment.”
Anyway, it’s all about fun so come on – sing along with me!! This song is meant to be sung to the tune of “Let It Snow.”

Let It Blow
Lyrics by The Inimitable Ms. Q
My nose is really dripping,
Causing all sorts of sniffling,
And since it’s got no place to go…
Let me blow, let me blow, let me blow!
My nose doesn’t show signs of stopping,
I’ve bought tissues for all the snotting,
The heat may be on, but I feel so cold…
Let me blow, let me blow, let me blow!
When I finally crawl out of bed,
I’m dizzy, dehydrated and drawn.
If you put a hand to my head,
You’ll see that fever is keeping me warm!
The drugs are not really working,
Kill me now, my sinuses are hurting.
It hurts, I can’t take no mo’
Let me blow, let me blow, let me blow!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Very nice.
I have written a song to the tune of “Dragging the Line,” but yours is so much more not-in-a-bar-with-my-buddies friendly.
I’d love to hear D’s song…
I like your singing voice, very nice! Thank you so much for sharing!
I just have to add I love how you crack up in the second stanza, hehehe. I was laughing WITH you, my friend!
delmer: Hmm..I gotta look up “Dragging the Line” – like Sue, I’d love to hear your version!
Sue: Glad you enjoyed my “singing”! Yeah, I did crack up on the 2nd stanza. I figure you’d laugh what with your “nutty” singing! I’m not as brave as you – singing on a video! We have to laugh at ourselves, that’s for sure!
Hey there was NOTHING scary about that!!! REALLY cute cat picture. The kids and I saw the neatest a capella group last year. They stopped the show in the middle to show how they made all the drum & instrument sounds with their mouths.
Oh my preschoolers that song of Sue’s!!!!!! I sing it in preschool every fall!!!!!!!
Here Here for MsQ!!!!!!!!! (crowd going wild) encore encore!!!
That was fantastic, and a really nice personal holiday gift to your readers. I am so glad you included the words…. it enables other cats to join the capella performance. As I have been outside most of the day, my nasal passages are in the spirit of this Q-ed rendition.
I’m going to listen again!
Very cool MsQ…. very cool.
Your friend in MN, “SpeedyCat Hollydale”
Jill: so you know “I’m a Nut” very well then!
A capella groups are really cool. I’ve seen (on TV) something along the lines of what you mentioned – where the singers are mimicking musical instruments and everything. It’s incredible. It also makes me think of that dance group, “Stomp” and making music out of odd things like how “Blue Man Group” does.
Speedy! Hahahah! Thanks for the applause. I hope your nasal passages have cleared by now.
Thanks for actually wanting to listen to it again! You must be at work – DSL and not dialup! I probably sound very loooowww on dialup.
Where did the cat picture come from? I think you know why I’m asking
HMTKSteve: Yes I know why you’re asking and I can’t recall. I think I googled on “Singing cats” and came across it.
You had me laughing and amazed at the same time. Laughing because your lyrics fit the song perfectly, and amazed at how well you can hold a tune.
I’m sure the recording companies will be knocking at your door soon!
Jake: Hahaha! I’m glad you were laughing along with me. I am not sure if I actually want recording companies to knock at my door – I don’t have such umm…delusions of grandeur.
I never really thought I could carry a tune so it’s been interesting to learn that HEY maybe I’m not as bad as I thought. If anything, I can enjoy myself more – not that I’m gonna rush out for karaoke nights.
It’s just weird to have people telling me I can sing – it’s never been in my reality.
Haha I think that I might even like this more than your rendition of “Fever” because it’s more fun and original. Very cool!
hahahha!! Not the best voice I’ve heard (I can hear you going “no kidding”) but made me laugh, so
Have a very spirited Christmas to you too!
Derek: Thanks! Singing something fun and original is actually easier than trying to sing a well-known song – everyone has their own idea about what a classic song should sound like or their favorite “cover”.
Melody: If I was the best voice you’d ever heard, I wudda been surprised! Glad I made you laugh – laughter is very good!
