Cruises are perfect for me, since i love vegging. I took a 15-day cruise to Hawaii and back a while ago. I managed to stay basically the same weight. But, I didn't check it immediately afterwards. I checked it after the holidays. (Cruise was in December.)

It's really easy to overeat on a cruise. What I did was to not deny myself, but to eat sensibly. If you want all of the desserts, they'll bring them to you. But, I picked one and went with that.

They tend to have gyms with treadmills and all that, plus i think it might be standard to have a deck you can run on. (For those that like to move as they run, rather than run in place.)

Yoga on a cruise is an interesting experience. I fell out of an asana I hadn't fallen out of for something like two years. It's quite different when Mother Earth isn't stable like she usually is.

But, you can still come back looking like Mr. Stay Puff if you want. :-)

UT: Ricardo has mentioned retiring from blogging in the past. In his case I think blogging is just a part of his creative/expressive evolution and it'll run its course. I can see him returning to blogging or whatever blogging evolves to.

Thanks for wanting me to keep writing! In my case I enjoy writing and blogging is a great outlet for it. I still have many stories in me. If I do take a break it'll be due to "Technical Difficulties"combined with my life being kinda...busy these days!

I'm glad you found my blog, too! We'll have to thank Peogles for our finding each other (eeek! I haven't visited his blog in a while...) I enjoy your blog, too. It's been interesting to see how it's changed over time.

Derek: I dunno if my blog has been hacked or what. I can only guess that it has. My hosting company didn't tell me anything; I had noticed a ton of ghastly spam and it took me a while to notice that my spam plugin was deactivated! From there I noticed that ALL my plugins were deactivated and THEN I actually viewed my blog and saw that the sidebar was missing as well as 2 pages.

I do notice that your site is frequently down or at least unavailable more than most sites.
My cruise it going North. :D

I am trying to be neutral about the cruise as I don't *think* I am a fan of cruises but then, I've never been on one! I once went to Oahu and I felt a bit claustrophobic - I'm used to being able to drive and drive and drive and not being able to made me feel a bit constricted!

I also like being outdoors and walking around and seeing nature and cruises seem like eating and vegetating. But that's my impression - I'm told they are a lot of fun and it was an opportunity to take my mom on vacation without having to be totally responsible for her - a ship is enclosed with a ton of activities and what she's into is doing all the massage/SPA stuff.

I also decided to do this cruise because it's a bit of a mini family reunion.

Did you gain weight on your cruise to Mexico? Everyone says that it's food-food-food on these cruises. My mom is excited about not having to cook!

Sue: Thanks!

HMTKSteve: Well....they said "UP TO 48 hours." I dunno. In my case I'm not selling anything and it's not like Adsense has paid any bills (haven't received anything from them) so it's almost a nice break for me!

A 48 hour outage? Are they serious?

I had my server moved last month and it was done in the middle of the night (not that it matters as many of my sites have global audiances) and lasted for less than one hour.

48 hour downtime should not be tollerated.
