I’m Perfect
I’ve been reading Ricardo’s series about boob jobs, “Giving the Gift of Boob.”
It’s an excellent series that shows his talent as a writer because he manages to discuss the topic in both a compassionate and lewd manner.
Be sure to read the comments – the series got many of us talking and it got us talking because it got us thinking.
It certainly got me thinking about how we all seem to search for perfection. I have my own struggle with wanting to be the best and with feelings that I don’t deserve good things. I have also looked in the mirror and not liked what I saw.
We all desire to be found beautiful.
So we are all searching for perfection, in ourselves and in others. When we look for it in others or even in objects, we hope that their magic will rub off on us. When we look for ways to make ourselves perfect we do so in the belief that somehow this will make us happy.
Good luck with that.
The concept of perfection is itself imperfect. Why? Because the definition of what is perfect keeps changing.
Think about how the definition of beauty has changed over time. Alabaster skin was in. Having a boodah was in at some point. What about the Chinese and feet binding? Or cultures that find scarring beautiful?
At any point in time, our “type” was probably some ideal.
And what about those imperfections?
Sometimes those imperfections are what others find your most endearing feature: the freckles, your gap-toothed smile, the hook in your nose, your big feet, and the fact that one breast is bigger than the other.
I just noticed this.

Part of your blogging intrigue has always been the Q-ed photos. We see your inner reflections all the time, yet the image is blurred to your visual identity. Speaking of Q-ed pictures …. one of them would be perfect for my latest blogging gallery. Will you submit one??? How about the one of you on the boat?
Wait a minute here … one breast bigger than the other?? OMGorsh – you must have seen my photos from the beach. One pectoral is much bigger than the other – what can I say??

I had no idea you had one breast bigger than the other
but I’m sure that just adds to your charm! Most people are not symmetrical – legs, arms, eyes, feet – usually one is longer or bigger than the other!

Me and my brother were just talking about perfection and what it is. Knowing that its connected to perception and relative to the person dealing or analyzing the subject/topic. Don’ t know where I’m going with this except to say… Great post.

UT: Doesn’t surprise me anymore that our minds are along the same wavelength! We all want to be perfect or define perfection and it reminds me of the metaphor of a river something about a river is never the same river at any moment in time. But it’s still a river.
It also makes me think about how we are so unaware of ourselves and the present. We don’t appreciate what we have now. I look at old photos of myself and think, dang, I was really cute! But I didn’t think so…I mean, not totally. I’ve heard people say similar things about how they really didn’t appreciate what they had and it’s only in reflecting that they realize how lucky they were.
