Taking Flight
I’m finally doing it - taking some time off - really taking some time off.
I began this blog after realizing that writing was what inspired me. Developing this site, writing, “putting it out there” have all been big steps for me. Blogging has felt both incredibly risky and freeing.
This past year, my external life appeared as predictable as ever. My internal life has been roiling. Except in certain rare instances (usually involving men, yeesh) I play it safe. I’ve come to realize that Playing It Safe is just a point of view. I have begun to change my definition of risk in order to be able to live more passionately and with more inspiration. Because of this intention, an opportunity manifested itself and I decided that instead of waiting for a better moment, I would start living the moment and I booked flights to see friends in Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve been meaning to return and the years have come, the years have gone.
How did it get so late so soon?
It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?
- Dr. Seuss
I’m taking off today and won’t be back for a couple of weeks.
I’ll begin posting again staring January 15, 2007, or earlier if the jet lag isn’t that bad!
If you are in need of some resolutions for next year, how about this:
Fear less, hope more;
Whine less, breathe more;
Talk less, say more;
Hate less, love more;
And all good things are yours.
