The Face Behind QMusings

Face Behind The Blog - Logo

Derek Wong of Going The Wong Way tagged me with the Face Behind The Blog tag began by David Airey.

The idea behind the meme is that seeing the face behind the blog will add a more personal feel to the conversation.

I may not have a photo of myself posted in my About page but I do have photos of Ms. Q throughout my blog.

For example, here I am flying first class on British Airways.

I think this is a pretty good shot of me in an American Airline’s business class seat.

I show my whacky side while daydreaming at the post office.

Here I am hoisting a brew and here you see me twice - once at the southern-most point of Africa and again when I perform an almost nightly ritual: pouring myself a glass of wine.

And of course there is me with the Freakin’ Ugly shoes - Crocs.

However, since Derek asked, I thought I’d post a more recent photo of myself.

This was taken yesterday while I was out and about enjoying the sunny weather.

So there you have it, The Face Behind QMusings.

In all seriousness, I do agree with David that knowing what someone looks like adds a personal feel to the conversation.

I tend to check out the About pages in the hopes that I’ll find out what a blogger looks like. However, I also respect those anonymous bloggers, as I am one myself.

It’s a personal decision. As such, I will not be requesting fellow bloggers to reveal themselves.

    I was wondering how you would handle this one. In the end you did what I thought you would do.

    Some of us just prefer a bit of anonymity on the net. I mean, who wants to get hassled at the supermarket just because you are famous?

    HMTKSteve: As much as I like to see what a person looks like, as a writer, I think it’s more interesting to let a reader fill in the blanks. I have no idea what you look like except for one small comment about your hair. I’m sure I might gain more clues about you if I read through all your posts.

    In my case, I haven’t left all that much to the imagination. When I first began writing, I hadn’t planned on including photos of me at all. Then the goofy geisha idea came to me.

    Yeah, I saw that David tagged you as well. I think I know your basic response (if not the implementation!).

    I’m not into having my photo splashed all over. If I ever wrote a book, I don’t want a photo of me on the jacket!

    Oh I should have known that’s what you’d end up doing, considering that I saw a post or two with similar pictures.

    I respect your anonymity even though as with all things, a good mystery only piques the curiosity even more. In any case, thanks for playing along and good luck with that book. :)

    Derek: Everyone is coming up with an eBook these days - maybe I’ll write one of those. Possible titles:

    “I’m Not Short, I Just Look This Way”
    “Learn To Color Outside the Lines”
    “Care and Feeding of Your Pet Rock”
    “Why Is My Wine Glass Empty?”
