The Pause That Refreshes

I’m taking my own advice and taking care of myself first.
I realize that I need some time alone or “Me Time” as my family calls it.
I’m taking a little break because I know that taking care of myself first is better for everyone.
I’m not there yet but I could be writing things like:
- I’m at the end of my rope.
- I’m running on empty.
- I’m burning the candles on both ends.
Or:
Life is a vale of tears but I will survive because it’s always darkest before the dawn.
Anyway, I need a break, some time to listen to the wind, to be still, to allow the silence to seep into me.
Otherwise, misery might indeed love company and my writing will become riddled with cliches.
And you know what that means…
Nail-in-the-eye fun!

I’ll continue to respond to any comments as well as leave them.
I just need a little break and I’ll be back (channeling the QMinator as Gregg called me!)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
That looks like a fun site!!!!! I love a well placed cliche. (It’s the little things don’t'cha know!)
You have so much insight; a great head on your shoulders. Don’t worry about answering this one for one thing. Just take care of yourself MsQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aww Ms. Q you shall be missed. But it is necessary to make the time for self.
I wish you well on your time away. And look forward to your return.
Hey Ms Q
I like your blog.
Steven Covey calls it “sharpening the saw”. I like that analogy but then again, it comes from a self improvement book, and I know what you think of them!
Enjoy your break
Alastair
Jill: Yes, the site was fun. Actually, my mom is a Random Cliche generator herself. She knows it, though and she told me that her tendency to speak in cliches used to really annoy her therapist.
Which goes to show you how great her therapist (ages ago) was - her therapist needed therapy! Thanks for the wishes!
UT: Thanks for the message and yeah, I realized I needed to take a break from posting. I have plenty of ideas but what happens is that I don’t like dashing out a post and put a lot into them. I don’t it when I feel my writing is getting sloppy. I just stop then.
Alastair: I did have that “I’m Fine” post which made fun of self-improvement books but really, I was making fun of myself! I read a LOT of self-improvement books (not all the time, just during Growth Spurts one of which I am going through) and it’s easy to get a bit of personal development burnout.
I’m glad you like my blog. I’ve visited both of yours - much fun and both are of interest to me! I’m glad you stopped by.
Well take your time and hopefully you’ll get your 2nd wind.
Ricardo: As you write in your blog…stay tuned…
I may be back…sooner than you think.
Hi Ms Q.! What a cool and inspiring blog you have! Thank you for dropping by at mine, BTW. Funny to see what the mere publishing of a list such as that one in this Face Off mee can bring. If not backlinks with linklove, at least it always seems to get me in touch with nice and interesting blogs/bloggers I would have otherwise probably not discovered.
Oh, and I love this cliche-thing! Here’s the 10 random ones it generated for me: Lol!!
Put a fork in me, I’m done.
he can be saddled (as in controlled)
just another cliche
whisper sweet nothings
honest to goodness
Get back, Jack
we have to take “one game at a time”
wait with baited breath
Cold as ice
rule with an iron hand
That almost is pure Poetry, isn’t it?
Take Care!
Jos:)
Jos: you’re right - it does read as a weird type of poetry!
Yes, this meme is an interesting one. It has made me check out and discover some blogs.
