Dream: All Shade, No Meaning

Published by MsQ at 6:52 pm under Intermission, QMusements

Dream or Dreamer?

I had this dream.

In the dream I was walking.

It was night.

The sidewalks looked flat in the light of the moon.

The bushes and trees in the yards were blurry and soft.

A cat dashed out from under a bush, ran across the empty street.

It looked black. All cats are black in the dark.

It was a boring dream.

Sometimes a Cat...is just a Cat

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Interesting. Most of my dreams I am inside a huge building of some variety.

Speedcat: well, at least YOU found it interesting. In my case I woke up thinking, “That was all you could come up with?”

I have always recalled my dreams (at least within waking if not later in the day!) and have lately tried to see if I could “control” a dream as in Lucid Dreaming. I have had moments when I’m in the dream and aware that hey, I’m…dreaming. A VERY long time ago I remember thinking, Hey, since I’m in a dreamworld, I should be able to imagine that I could fly. This was kinda funny and very indicative of how “powerful” I felt at hmm, age maybe 23? I was able to “hover” about 3 feet off the ground and didn’t get much speed. I hope to do better the next time!

During a difficult time in my life, I had a dream about a sink full of dirty dishes and dirty water. It reflected my life. Interesting.

Jake: Sometimes the subconscious tells it to you straight, huh? The symbolism here isn’t too tricky! As opposed to some dream that leaves you puzzled:

Uh, so the old-fashioned black rotary phone ringing in the middle of the desert means…?? and the child riding on the back of a giant hamster symbolizes ???

I’ve gotten those “need to clean” type dreams, too.

I hope you don’t have more dirty dishes show up ;-)

Dreams? Dreams? Tell me of this concept called “dreams” that are not things you consciously wish to have happen.

You don’t just go from being awake, to a discontinuity, to back awake? You remember something happening in there? But, it didn’t really happen?

    Odd.

And you say this happens with most people?

For the subtle impaired, I don’t typically recall my dreams. (assuming I do have them every night.) At a guess, I would say I remember them 3 or 4 times a year.

    It is what it is.
