Kick Ass Day

Published by MsQ at 12:53 pm under General, Life

Yep, “ass” isn’t a word you’d expect to find here but dang, I thunk and thunk and KICK ASS DAY it is!

I went to bed late last night expecting to wake up a bit tired. The day had other plans for me. I wasn’t exactly bounding out of bed but there was more spring in my step than I expected.

It’s a quarter after 5 in the morning and I’m on the treadmill. This isn’t the kick-ass part. I usually am on the treadmill or the elliptical machine at this hour during a weekday.

I thought I’d have an easy run what with not getting much sleep but nope, I felt like cranking it up like I usually do.

I love running and I love powering up hills. I kicked treadmill ass today. Wheeee!

Running is my Super Power. I think we all have some particular talent or skill that we think of as special or our Super Power. I have a few other Super Powers.

It’s nice to have Super Powers, isn’t it? They are especially nice if no one suspects you have ‘em.

In my case, I look totally innocuous. Seriously.

Four-foot-ten-and-three-quarter-inches short and I can run 5.47 miles in 50 minutes with intermittent series of 4% grades.

Anyway, that was just the beginning of my Kick.  Ass.  Day.

As I showered and got ready for work, I had in mind to wear a sweater. But I saw the early morning sun shining through the blinds and the day said, “You need a kick ass outfit to wear today.”

I didn’t bring my camera today, sorry. But I’m wearing soft boot cut jeans, a white scoop neck tee shirt, a gray hooded jacket and a blue pearl dangling from a black suede cord high around my neck.

I feel good. I feel like I.  Kick.  Ass.

I’m on the train heading towards work and EVERYTHING is kicking ass! The hills are gloriously draped with clouds of wild mustard.

I get off the train and the grounds crew are out. They are mowing the lawns, pulling weeds, trimming hedges.

The air smells of freshly cut grass.

What a Kick Ass Day.

I wish you all a Kick-Ass Day!!

Gimmee an A..

In case you’re wondering, I work in (kick) Building A(ss).

WoW Ms. Q! I never thought I would hear/read such profane language from you. LOL… Actually, it is quite refreshing and I’m glad you are having a KICK ASS DAY.

Super Powers: I never thought about it the way you say it. I usually think of it as those abilities that people like to sleep on. Yet, I sit here and realize that indeed, we all have Super Powers. Now that it is at the forefront of my mind I realize I have quite a few. Some I cannot mention in this comment section or my own blog.

I’m loving your cardio game. That is what’s up…

I’m glad you are feeling good. Keep having days like this. PLEASE!

When people look at me, they can’t imagine I can walk up two flights of stairs. But I show them.

One of my super powers is that I rarely have to stand in line. I’ll walk into a place and right up to the counter … two minutes later the line will be out the door. It works here and in the UK.

My youngest’s super power is that he never steps into a dirty bathroom. It could be the only Port-A-John at an all-day festival and when he has to go, regardless of the time, it will look like it was cleaned just moments before he opened the door.

UT: Is that a typo in your name?

Yeah, me and profanity. Who wudda thunk it. Actually, I began life not swearing and then made myself comfortable with some sh*ts and f*cks and now…I don’t really have the need to swear. I am more circumspect in my blog - it’s “Rated G” but I think it makes the occasional profanity more meaningful or interesting or even, funny.

I pretty much thought of our talents like you - something to sleep on but when I wrote this post Super Power came to mind. Much more fun!! Much more KICK ASS, don’t you think?

    Hehehe.

My cardio is excellent!! Sometimes I am really in the zone and I’ll be running around the lake (much better than indoors) and the lake has some nice climbs and I’ll be passing other runners by…effortlessly. I can’t see drugs beating the feeling, that’s for sure.

PITS: hahahaha! For some reason I think of you as someone who works out regularly. I am not sure why but I don’t think of you as some pale indoor writer type. Unless the new book and fatherhood have kicked you on your uh…ass? I know, I’m showing how infrequently I visit your blog…

delmer: That is a totally cool Super Power you have! I certainly wouldn’t mind your youngest son’s Super Power, what with my Public Restroom Fixation. Now that I don’t travel for work, I gotta find a new outlet for this. You got me thinking I should write about super powers!! Thanks!

    It is a typo.

Yes, it is KICK ASS. LOL

Running around a lake sounds very relaxing. When I get on the treadmill I think about me running from my in San Juan to Old San Juan. The smell of the salt air and the scenery changing around me from new to old. The feeling of accomplishment when I finally reached my destination. I always wanted to take a cab back but I ended up walking it back and then jogging the last leg. I was sorta lazy at the time.

But memories… Yeah, that gets me through running on the treadmill.

MsQ!!!!!!!! You are fast like a rocket warping through space wormhole #723473-77A in the Dilexicon Galaxy … woo hooo :-)

Glad to hear you took a shower before headed out to work (wink)

Some days are just that … Kick azz. Sometimes I am not sure even why! You wake up happy, go about your day with a feeling of walking on air. I wish they all could be that way.

Philosophy 101: Your best days are only comparative to your worst days …. hmmm. Thank goodness for stupid days too!

Love the picture of the “A” building, although I would have thought you to be in the “Q” building. (whaaa???) mild moment of giggle. I also saw you were at Miss Moneypenny’s??? Love your comment there …. ROLF!!!! / I challange you to a race from Hollydale to the “A” building. Winner gets a chicken dinner. You knew that was coming 8~)

Wishing the rest of your week is as good as this one was MsQ

I kept meaning to respond to these..

UT: Running from San Juan to Old San Juan? Not sure where that is but it sounds like a very nice run and it’s nice to feel like you’re actually going somewhere. Walking over taking a cab doesn’t sound lazy to me!

Speedy!! I’m fast but not wormhole fast! Regarding Philosophy 101..yes, we do need to have comparisons, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to judge anything. Judging as in making assessments. It all depends, right? Some people think their life isn’t that great ..until they see someone who has “less” yet is happier. Other people are too scared to ask for more thinking that life might get worse and then they make a change and dang, life improves!

It’d be fun to be in Building Q if there were such a thing!
