Spring Cleaning (for the soul)

Published by MsQ at 11:31 am under Personal Growth, Poems, Social Commentary

Spring - a time of renewal and change, rebirth and … cleaning!

You feel the change in season and the nip in the air does feel cold any longer…it feel refreshing, invigorating and like all that dormant beauty under soil and branch, you’re ready to bloom!

So then you look around and think, huh, I need some room to expand here…and out goes the old to prepare for the new.

I finally changed my blog - upgraded the software and even gave it a new theme. I’ve been slowly customizing it to make it my own.

I see that other bloggers have been doing some Spring Cleaning and making changes!

There’s Roy out in Korea who changed his domain. He’s the Master of a few domains and I bow to his UNIX expertise.

There’s HMTKSteve busting a move and a few rakes cleaning up his home, yard and even his blogs!

There’s Rolando who’s been very busy with work but managed to work the soil.

I’ve been throwing out all sorts of papers as I do my own Spring cleaning. As I sort through statements and categorize all this stuff that makes up the infrastructure of my outer life, I wonder why. Why should I do this? Why do I need all this proof that I exist?

I came across this haiku by Mizuta Masahide:

“Barn’s burnt down -
now I can see the moon.”

Spring, it is so great. Today is the first time it looks and feels like summer is finally on the way. Green grass sproutin` up everywhere. (ahhh, sigh of relief)

haiku? That one is so short, yet has a BIG punch. You can actually think about it for a moment - far longer than the 2 second read.

HERE IS MINE! drummer drumming ….

    “Rays of spring -
flow down to my cat face” :-)

…. and now I need a nap! Early job today, and I am whoooped. Have one of those kik azz weeks Ms Q.

I’m glad you found a theme you like. I’ve been wanting to change it up and haven’t found anything that goes: That’s the one. That is the one right there. I think I’ll take it.

Glad you are making progress. Chalk that up on the list of things-to-do. Next project…

    Ricardo: Thank you!

UT: I really like the designs that Sadish comes up with which pared down my choices a bit. That made it easier! He provides great support (for a free theme!) and a forum and his code just works. I really liked this layout and all I did was change the header from the original (a bridge) to this one. I may tweak it out some more. I’ve already changed the fonts and am trying to figure out how to change the sidebar fonts a bit. I’m also searching for a new image. This one of the waves is a bit “out of the box” and I’d like to have something personalized.

Good luck with finding a new theme for yourself!

We’ll I finally pulled myself from the garden (for now). I just love it back there now that it’s Spring. I like the Spring cleaning you’ve done around here too. :)

Rolando: Your gardens looks great and it’s so big! Well, it seems big to me. I’m a city gal and city yards (if you have one) aren’t all that big. Glad you like my blog’s “Spring Cleaning!”
